Our mission is to end veteran homelessness. That doesn’t work by only targeting the people already experiencing homelessness. Working with military transition apprenticeship programs allows us to help be a part of the real solution. Preventing homelessness before it happens by getting service members started in their civilian lives on more solid footing.
Hiring Our Heroes is a transition assistance program that connects servicemembers with businesses in a variety of ways. Many programs can lead directly to jobs. Some provide certification in skills that look great on resumes. Other provide practical experiences working with organizations they might be interested in working with.
Our first Hiring Our Heroes fellowship intern flew out to Ohio with us and drove back our very first ambulance. This is photo is of once we had finally arrived back in the Morongo Basin.
