Veterans sacrifice themselves for the citizens of our country. As citizens, it’s our job to ensure our veterans have the support they need.

Mother, Wife, Compassionate Advocate, Problem-Solver, Coffee Lover and Avid Book Reader

Meghann Floyd has been connected with the military and veterans her entire life.  Multiple generations of her family answered the call to serve. Growing up as a military daughter, her home was wherever the Marine Corps sent her family.  Finally, upon her father’s retirement from the Marine Corps, they decided to call Jacksonville, North Carolina their home.  Years later, she would meet and marry Eric, a handsome and supportive Marine stationed at Camp Lejeune.

Together, they have two amazing children, James and Elizabeth.  James is a fun-loving kid with an entrepreneurial spirit who enjoys creating unique card games with his friends. Elizabeth, a theater kid, loves exploring her creativity through music and makeup. Eric retired from the Marine Corps in 2019 after twenty years of service and now works for Northrop Grumman as a Systems Engineer in San Diego. Meghann accepted the challenge of raising their family and supporting Eric in his career.  Despite multiple moves and deployments with two young kids, Meghann graduated summa cum laude from Park University with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Criminal Justice.  After graduation, she accepted a position in the Family Law Division of the San Diego Superior Court.  Through her time at the courthouse, she observed the struggles experienced by low-income litigants while navigating a nuanced legal system.

At an early age, Meghann learned “no” was only a jumping-off point for negotiations. She attended and graduated from California Western School of Law (CWSL) in San Diego. She joined and served as treasurer for the Beaumont Chapter of Phi Alpha Delta, an international legal fraternity, and as treasurer for CWSL Student Bar Association. She was inducted into the Public Service Honors Society for her work as a volunteer for the Family Law Facilitators Office of the San Diego Superior Court providing legal help to low-income clients. After graduation, she opened her law firm focusing on estate planning and family law. Her firm aims to help low-income and military families secure generational wealth through estate planning. Meghann is a current member of the San Diego Bar Association. When Meghann isn’t practicing law, she enjoys RV camping with her family, reading a good book or spending time at the San Diego Safari Park.

Meghann has respect and admiration for those who serve and protect our country. Military service is a selfless and heroic sacrifice. Rescue + Residence’s unique mission of providing necessary support and job skill training to homeless veterans attracted her to the organization. She is excited to be a part of an organization aimed at giving back to our heroes.
