I couldn’t just standby and keep talking about this problem. I decided I needed to actually DO something about it.

Daniel Belew

Leader, organizer, Father, Husband, planner, space nerd, thinker, trainer, communicator, LEGO fan, Marine.

Daniel Belew has been a United States Marine for nearly all of his adult life. He graduated high school in Vancouver, WA and spent the next 23 years in the Corps. While he was successful during high school at making friends, performing in theater and on public cable television, and with his grades, things were not always easy. He spent several periods without a safe place to call home. He would often lean on friends and their families but often felt like he may have been overstaying his welcome. Not through any fault of the very generous people that helped him through those times.

The Marine Corps put him somewhere he could thrive and grow and learn to lead.

While serving he earned a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Maryland. He specialized in Political Science with a minor in English. He earned a Master of Science degree in Organizational Leadership and a Masters Certificate in Organizational Change Management from the University of Maryland.

He has been married to his beautiful wife, Cindy, for 20 years and they have two amazing living children. Logan is a Sophomore at the University of West Florida. He is pursuing a double bachelor’s degree in electrical and computer engineering. Addyson is an aspiring drummer and car mechanic and enjoys making YouTube videos. You should check out her channel here. Cindy is an early reading intervention specialist for the Palm Springs Unified School District.

Nothing like Rescue + Residence had ever been on Daniel’s RADAR until a year’s worth of podcasts on government and social contracts showed him that the reality of the situation related to homelessness in the United States is a pervasive problem that is having negative impacts in nearly every other facet of our nation. You can check out the podcast episodes on YouTube here or anywhere else you get your podcasts.

He hopes you will join him to help do something to help each individual he can.
